About
Late at Tate Modern is an evening event held in collaboration with the independent UK record label Tru Thoughts, founded in Brighton in 1999 by Robert Luis and Paul Jonas. It is part of a midweek series bringing together DJs, selectors and live projects exploring jazz, soul, electronic and global sound. This session features the trio Sosyete '25, made up of songwriter and vocalist Merve Erdem (Kit Sebastian/Brainfeeder), guitarist and producer Glenn Fallows (Globeflower Masters/Mr Bongo), and producer and multi-instrumentalist Paul Elliott. The group combines Turkish classical and folk influences, Mediterranean pop and contemporary left-field production into a sound shaped by rhythmic experimentation, melodic textures and the poetic pull of Turkish songwriting.
