About
Blackout is a feature film screening at IFC Center, shown as part of the series Optic Nerve: A Tribute to Glass Eye Pix. Director Larry Fessenden says he tells the story of a town divided by racism and a corrupt patriarch to update the werewolf movie. He describes his work as rooted in the low-key traditions of 1990s indie cinema, with collaborators like Kelly Reichardt, Jim Jarmusch and Steve Buscemi, alongside a deep love of the horror genre. The film stars Alex Hurt, Addison Timlin, Michael Buscemi, Joe Swanberg and Barbara Crampton.
