CONNIE HARRISON Landscrapes

An exhibition of paintings at a New York art gallery. It is the first solo show in the United States, and with this gallery, by the British artist Connie Harrison, who lives and works in London. Titled 'Landscrapes', it moves from expansive landscapes to isolated, magnified elements of flora and fauna. Harrison builds layered compositions of wax and oil paint, then scrapes into them with scalpels and knives to create relief, depth and movement.
