An exhibition of paintings titled Sophia Bounou and Paul McDowall at the gallery The Hole in Tribeca. London's Blond Contemporary takes over the space for the month, giving two of its New York-based artists a two-week solo show each. Sophia Bounou, a French-Moroccan painter, shows vibrant, instinctive canvases that turn the people, relationships and experiences around her into densely layered visual worlds. Paul McDowall follows with uncanny paintings that capture the stillness of pools at night.
