About
"High on Media" is a community-sourced group exhibition of works from the 80s E.V. Neo-Conceptualists, many of them cherished small pieces lent from people's homes, opening at HA/HA. The title comes from the song "Same Way" by Sandra Seymour of the 80s all-girl band Bite Like A Kitty, which, like the works of these artists, modeled the scenarios of our current media engulfment. Peter Nagy (1959–2026), co-founder of Gallery Nature Morte, was going to write an essay for the show. Among the many artists included are Jeff Koons, Robert Longo, Sherrie Levine, Louise Lawler, Allan McCollum, Carroll Dunham and Julia Wachtel.
