About

A panel conversation titled "In Conversation: Southwest Pueblo Artists" held for Native Heritage Month at Parsons. Indigenizing Parsons and Indigenous Rising at The New School present it, exploring Indigenous fashion, dance, cultural identity, and creative expression with three Pueblo artists from the Southwest. Than Povi Martinez (Tewa, Pueblo de San Ildefonso), Sage Mountainflower (Ohkay Owingeh, Taos Pueblo, Diné), and Loren Aragon (Acoma Pueblo) join moderator Patricia Michaels (Taos Pueblo). They discuss how Indigenous artists and designers draw on community relationships, cultural knowledges, and ancestral practices in their contemporary work.
