Leonora Carrington & Cecilia Vicuña: myth and imagination.

An exhibition at the Lehmann Maupin gallery pairing the work of Leonora Carrington and Cecilia Vicuña together for the first time, running from November 19 to December 19, 2026. Organized with Gallery Wendi Norris, it shows new works by Vicuña alongside historical works by Carrington, tracing the two artists' shared turn to myth, transformation, and imagination. The two knew each other personally: Vicuña met Carrington in 1969, an encounter that shaped her practice and introduced her to a new method of painting. The show later travels to Gallery Wendi Norris in San Francisco in January 2027.
