About
An online conversation held by the International Center of Photography on the occasion of its exhibition Laia Abril: On Rape and Institutional Failure. Historian Joanna Bourke, curator Marta Gili, and ICP's Associate Director of Exhibitions Sara Ickow discuss the historical context of assault in the 21st century and how Abril's work fits into contemporary discourse on how we process trauma. The exhibition centers on the second chapter of Abril's ongoing project A History of Misogyny, examining forms of violence against women throughout history and the systemic rape culture that persists today. Attendance is free.
