About

A live jazz set led by Hammond organ player Gregory Lewis under the name Organ Monk Trio. Lewis, a fixture of New York City's jazz and blues scenes, devotes his playing to the compositions of pianist-composer Thelonious Monk, a fascination that began with his father's record collection. A chance encounter with a Hammond B3 instead of a piano, and later hearing Larry Young play "Monk's Dream," set him on his path as an organist. He now leads his all-star Organ Monk trio, quartet, and quintet.
