About
PROXIMITY is an exhibition of painting, photography, and mixed media shown at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art's Main Hall Gallery. It celebrates Snug Harbor's studio program, in which artists in residence create new work in its historic buildings. Featuring work by ten artists including Erin Butler, Linda Butti, and Mary Campbell, it explores the studio as a generative space where artists work near one another across space, time, and relationship. The show is defined not by a shared aesthetic but by a condition of closeness, through which individual practices develop, intersect, and inform one another.
