About
Qasim Naqvi: Slow Television is an evening of two new works by percussionist, composer, and synthesist Qasim Naqvi, created for his Roulette Commission: a solo study for modular synthesizer and a chamber work for piano, string trio, and three improvisers. The pieces draw on Naqvi's study of Earle Brown and Krzysztof Penderecki and use a graphic notational system of his own design, revisited after almost a decade. They are performed with Caroline Davis, Grey Mcmurray, Scott Colberg, members of the International Contemporary Ensemble, and video feedback by Steven Wendt, and are dedicated to the venue's spirit.
