About

Temple II is a solo exhibition of new paintings by Shuling Guo, with an opening reception on the evening of October 15. The Philadelphia-based artist brings together the female body, botanical forms, and devotional imagery in work shaped by motherhood, memory, and loss. Created after the birth of her daughter and the death of her grandmother, the paintings return to the temple imagery and folk traditions of her childhood in Chaoshan, China, and the show debuts her first mural, conceived as part of the gallery's transformation into a sacred space.
