About

The Meltdown is a Chilean drama by director Manuela Martelli, who also directed Chile '76. Set in 1992 during Chile's post-Pinochet 'economic miracle,' it follows nine-year-old Inés at an Andean ski resort, where she befriends Hanna, a rebellious German teenage athlete. When Hanna vanishes, Inés serves as a translator in the search, uncovering hidden truths that test her loyalties and echo her country's dark history, in a mystery told from a child's perspective about complicity, memory, and a nation in transition.
