About
The Dead, 1904 is an immersive theatrical holiday event based on James Joyce's novella, adapted by Paul Muldoon and Jean Hanff Korelitz and directed by Ciarán O'Reilly, with a cast including Judy Kaye and Mary Beth Peil. Audiences join the characters at the Morkan sisters' annual Christmastime party in Dublin over an authentic 20th-century feast. It takes place inside a Gilded Age mansion on Fifth Avenue, at the American Irish Historical Society, with dinner tickets offering a holiday meal inspired by Joyce's feast. First produced by Irish Repertory Theatre in 2016 and revived since, it is one of New York City's most sought-after holiday theatrical events.
