About
Join a docent-led tour that steps out of the city's hustle and into history, exploring the gallery and the architectural wonders of the Library's landmark 1917 building. The New York Society Library hosts these tours in connection with its exhibition 'Collective Witness: A Library for a Young Country,' which celebrates the United States' 250th anniversary and explores how a public library and a nascent democracy converged in New York City. Tours begin at 2:00, 2:30, 3:00, and 3:30 PM, and visitors meet their docent guide in the first-floor public Reference Room, to the right as they enter. The event is free of charge and open to the public on a drop-in basis.
