About
Underground NYC Tour: Subway 101 is a guided walking tour through the New York City subway system, visiting 3-4 publicly accessible stations and ending at the New York Transit Museum with its 1936 decommissioned subway station and vintage train cars. It is run by expert guides from the New York Transit Museum, a source for stories about New York's transportation. Along the way the tour explores the secrets of the subway, looks at art and architecture, and shows exclusive archival images from the Museum's collection. The roughly 90-minute tour departs from Astor Place and includes museum admission; apart from the ticket, two MetroCard swipes or OMNY taps are required.
