About
A guided walking tour through Chinatown, one of New York City's oldest and most culturally diverse neighborhoods. It is offered by the Museum of Chinese in America and shows how everyday buildings and places of historical significance reflect and shape a community, tracing the area from the Native American Lenape village of Werpoes Hill to today's Chinatown. Stops include Chinatown's oldest streets, a bustling neighborhood park and a Catholic church with layered histories, its oldest general store, and a Chinese eatery that served the turn-of-the-century "bachelor society." The tour lasts about ninety minutes, covers one to one and a half miles, leaves from the museum's lobby, is capped at 15 participants, and tickets include museum admission.
