Schubert's Winterreise: music theater with Gitschthaler.

Schubert's song cycle "Die Winterreise" is presented as interdisciplinary music theater, not a classical song recital. Behind the reinterpretation are soprano Anna Gitschthaler and Rebecca Ineichen on grand and hammer piano, with light and object art by Erika Gedeon and Stefan Schmidhofer, directed by Adela Maria Bierich. The cycle of 24 songs tells of a female wanderer who finds an abandoned church far outside the city and enters a space that mirrors her innermost self. Music, light art and spatial installation combine into a total experience in which sound, projection and movement interlock.
