Fantastische Karten zu legendären Geschichten

'Fantastische Karten zu legendären Geschichten' is an exhibition in the Schatzkammer of the Zentralbibliothek Zürich showing maps from literature and film as cultural artefacts in their own right. It joins the private collection 'Ex Carta' on fictional cartography with the holdings of the library's Maps and Panoramas department. Works ranging from J. R. R. Tolkien to Harry Potter and Robinson Crusoe appear alongside historical maps, notably early modern maps of Switzerland. The tour itself is designed as a Tolkien-inspired 'Cauldron of Story', accompanied by guided tours, a quiz and a digital exhibition.
