Räben schnitzen: carve turnip lanterns for the parade.
About
At «Räben schnitzen» at GZ Buchegg, lanterns are carved from turnips together, ahead of the big Räbeliechtli parade on Thursday evening («Es hät solangs hät.»). The event is run by the community centre GZ Buchegg, with Mara Klöti as contact. Adults can carve alone or with their child, and children from kindergarten age may help when accompanied by an adult. Turnips and candles are provided by GZ Buchegg, no registration is needed, and a collection is taken.
