About
"Glacier Dreams" is an immersive AI installation currently on view at the Kunsthaus Zürich. Refik Anadol, born in Istanbul and living in Los Angeles, drew on over 100 million images from online and institutional archives plus a specially assembled dataset of more than 10 million glacier images from Iceland, Greenland and Antarctica. Addressing sight, hearing and even smell, the installation draws attention to climate change and the fragility of glaciers. Anadol calls this ever-flowing form "data painting", in which the work never dries but constantly takes on new shapes.
