About
In the foyer of the Chipperfield Building, the Kunsthaus Zürich is showing a monumental, colour-intensive installation by the American artist Jeffrey Gibson, on display until the end of 2026 and free of charge. The site-specific work, conceived especially for the Foyer Haefner, is titled "boshullichi / inlʋchi - we will continue to change" and combines painting, sculpture, screen printing, bead embroidery, ceramics and textiles into an immersive artwork open to performative activation. Gibson merges indigenous traditions from North America with elements of modern and contemporary art, echoing artists such as Kazimir Malevich, Anni Albers and Jaune Quick-to-See Smith. The title joins two words from the Choctaw language, both of which mean "change".
