The Architecture of Power

The exhibition "The Architecture of Power" explores the close connection between monumental architecture and political power. It traces this at times frightening tradition through the designs and visions of Le Corbusier. Intimidating dimensions, monumental axes and the formal language of antiquity appear as typical means of representing power. Le Corbusier's interwar projects and his repeated lack of critical distance from fascism in his search for clients are also addressed.
