Traces of a Tradition

"Traces of a Tradition" is a piano trio concert featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms. Behind the evening is the Steiner Trio, which during the 2026 concert season brings together three significant works from the piano trio repertoire in a single program. The three pieces span more than a century of music history and show how the genre evolved from the clarity and balance of Viennese Classicism through the poetic language of the Early Romantic period to the expressive music of the late 19th century. The direct comparison reveals both the individual musical worlds of the three composers and the diverse connections between the works.
