Vater Sprachen

«Vater Sprachen» is a theatre performance at Theater Neumarkt in which headphones bring sounds and voices up close to the audience. Direction and performance are by Chady Abu-Nijmeh, who has himself become a father while remaining a son. Based on Alejandro Zambra's novel «Nachrichten an meinen Sohn», the piece searches across the generations for an answer to whether Chady is more the son or the father. In the intimate atmosphere of the Chorgasse, what arises live and what arrives as an echo merge into a personal listening experience.
