Zu Tisch: talk series on table culture.

The talk series „Zu Tisch! Tafelkultur und Design“ invites participants to rediscover the laid table as a stage of hospitality and an expression of culture. It is run by the Akademie of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, led by Martina Mahrenholz, and forms part of a four-part series that begins at the Kunstgewerbemuseum at the Kulturforum. Through porcelains and tableware, the table as a pictorial motif in the Gemäldegalerie, and the special exhibition „2101 – Future Ceramics. Tischkultur der Zukunft“, a dialogue emerges between object and image as well as between past and future. The session lasts one hour, and the number of participants is limited.
