About
Tongue and Throat Memories is a series of cooking sessions at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, running from 2023 to 2027. The HKW invites chefs from different cultures into the kitchen of its restaurant "Weltwirtschaft", where each creates a special menu, accompanied by films, performances, music, literature or conversations. The series is about culinary knowledge, hospitality and shared meals as a gesture of solidarity and healing, including the history of forced migration and displacement. It opens in June 2023 with Chef Fatmata Binta and her "Dine on a Mat" dinner of Fulani cuisine.
