About

„Alleine Tanzen“ is a documentary screening as part of the Doc Night at the Kinemathek's studio cinema. Director Biene Pilavci takes a wedding in her family circle as the occasion to come to terms with a childhood shaped by domestic violence in a Turkish family in Backnang near Stuttgart. Diary entries and VHS recordings, once silent witnesses of the violence, become the starting point for a direct confrontation with her parents and siblings. The director will be present, the evening is moderated by the Kinemathek, with an introduction and audience discussion.
