A 90-minute tour of the former prison hospital of the State Security Service on the grounds of the Hohenschönhausen Memorial. Inmates from all 17 pre-trial detention facilities of the Ministry for State Security were held there, including wounded escapees, seriously ill prisoners and hunger strikers. The listed building contains largely original rooms such as sick wards, an X-ray station, an operating theatre and the director's office. The tour conveys information about political imprisonment and persecution under the Soviet occupation and in the GDR.
