About
"Das Wirtshaus im Spessart" is a film screening. Directed by Kurt Hoffmann, based on Wilhelm Hauff's robber tale, it follows Comtesse Franziska, who is taken hostage by a band of robbers on a journey, escapes with wit and courage, and returns disguised to the robbers' camp, where a turbulent adventure with the charming robber captain awaits. Liselotte Pulver shines as the confident heroine. Maren Kroymann, for whom the film is one of her favourites, is the guest of the screening.

Critics
6.8Good
Critics praise the cheerful musical charm, its colourful, delightfully spooky entertainment and the effective parody of military and noble authorities. They fault its harmlessness: the film stays light, shallow diversion without greater depth.
