Klick Kino, Windscheidstraße 19, 10627 Berlin, Charlottenburg
About
A documentary about the life of Gad Beck, who as a 'Mischling' of Jewish descent was interned in 1943 in the Berlin assembly camp at the Rosenstraße and released again after the protests by non-Jewish relatives. The film tells how Beck, as head of the group 'Chug Chaluzi', organized the survival of numerous Jews living underground during the last two years of the war. It also covers his great love Manfred Lewin, who was deported. The film is by Robin Cackett and Carsten Does.
