A conversation about the German traces in Lower Silesia: the philosopher and cultural scholar Leszek Koczanowicz recalls his childhood in Legnica, where people began a new life after war, border shifts and expulsion. In conversation with the writer Karolina Kuszyk, he connects his memories with a look at the history of the region. Questions such as how one grows up in other people's houses and when a foreign place becomes home are at the centre. The focus is hauntology: the question of how an apparently vanished world continues to shape our everyday life and thinking.
