About
A panel discussion with a lecture on the history of Kraków under German occupation from 1939 to 1945 and how it is remembered today. Isabel Röskau-Rydel gives the introductory lecture; Edyta Gawron, Stephan Lehnstaedt and Isabel Röskau-Rydel take part in the panel, moderated by Uwe Neumärker. The event sheds light on the everyday life of the various population groups under German civil administration, the persecution of the Jewish population, the ghetto in Podgórze and the Płaszów concentration camp, and the annihilation of the Jewish population and the intellectual elite. It also looks at present-day places and forms of remembrance of the Nazi crimes in Poland's second-largest city.
