About
A reading and talk on Fontane's novel "Effi Briest" and its real-life model Elisabeth von Ardenne. Women's history expert Claudia von Gélieu/Frauentouren shows how the fictional heroine dies young over her adultery, while her model began a new life in Zehlendorf in 1889, learned to ski at sixty and to cycle at eighty. She asks which of the two women's lives better matched the social situation of women at the time. Advance registration is requested by phone (030) 90 299 5458 or email.
