Babylon, Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße 30, 10178 Berlin, Mitte
About
Screened is “The Answering Machine”, a psychological, music-driven arthouse drama about a young Berlin opera singer. It is directed by José Cortés and stars Ivon Mateljan, Thomas Quasthoff and Ana Fonell. Julia lives for her art, but between her family's expectations, the pressures of an uncompromising career and growing isolation, her inner balance begins to fracture. As messages pile up on her answering machine, sound, memory and truth merge inseparably in a 90-minute descent into her inner labyrinth.
