Documentary on Zurich's famous graffiti artist.

The documentary "Harald Naegli – Der Sprayer von Zürich" directed by Nathalie David portrays the Swiss artist Harald Naegeli, who became known worldwide in the late 1970s as the "Sprayer von Zürich". His minimalist graffiti condenses a few, deliberately placed lines into multidimensional meaning. With it he criticized Zurich's monotonous cityscape as well as politics and the treatment of the environment; after being convicted of property damage and serving a six-month prison sentence, he lived mainly in Düsseldorf. In 2020, during the first Covid-19 lockdown, he sprayed over 50 "Totentänze" in Zurich – the canton sued him while the city awarded him its art prize. The film presents him as a visionary, combative artist, rebel and philosopher.
