About

"Heute Abend: Lola Blau" is a musical for one actress by Georg Kreisler, staged at the Theater am Frankfurter Tor. It is set in Vienna 1938: the young Jewish actress Lola Blau loses her first engagement because of the "Anschluss", flees via Switzerland to the USA, where she becomes a much-celebrated star. After the war she returns to her homeland and must inevitably face the truth. Kreisler's musical, drawn from his own experience, tells this story in witty, biting and melancholic songs, with Cora Chilcott and Tobias Schwencke, directed by Wolfgang Seppelt.
