About
The West-Eastern Divan Ensemble performs chamber music at the Pierre Boulez Saal. The ensemble was founded in 2019 by Michael Barenboim, concertmaster of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, on the occasion of the orchestra's 20th anniversary. The program features works of the 19th to 21st centuries by Mendelssohn, Prokofiev, Ligeti and Widmann in settings ranging from duo to octet. The ensemble, which has toured Europe as well as North and South America, has appeared several times at the Pierre Boulez Saal and now returns there.
