About
"Krug. Zerbrochen!" is a comedy freely based on Heinrich von Kleist, suitable from age 14 and lasting 80 minutes. The piece is staged by Theater Strahl Berlin, with text by Uta Bierbaum and direction by Anna Vera Kelle. It follows a theatre group preparing a big jug show based on Kleist's tale of a lying village judge, while disputes over power and casting break out on stage. In a mix of Kleist's language and today's, the piece shows that people like the village judge Adam still sit at the top today – as long as we believe them.
