The sold-out reading with Angela Merkel, German Chancellor from 2005 to 2021, centres on her memoir "Freiheit", which she wrote together with her long-time adviser Beate Baumann. In it she looks back on her life in two German states, from childhood and studies in the GDR to the year 1989 and her meetings with the most powerful people in the world. After the reading, the book can be bought and signed live on the day of the signing session, while free tickets are available. The event is a cooperation between BUCHBOX!, Kiepenheuer & Witsch and the HKW.
