About
A reading with Irene Bindel from her autobiographical book “Wassermilch und Spitzenwein”. The author, born in Berlin in 1938 as the daughter of a Jewish father, tells of her childhood in the National Socialist era, of persecution and her father having to go into hiding, and of the new beginning after 1945, shaped by encounters with the American occupiers. Afterwards she speaks about her personal experiences and answers questions from the audience, with the evening guided by the historian Irmgard Zündorf. The event takes place as part of Berlin Freedom Week.
