About
A book presentation with a discussion at the Huguenot Museum. The renowned historian and publicist Jochen Thies presents his new book on the history of the Huguenots in conversation with BeBra publisher Dirk Palm; after a welcome by pastor Sabine Beyer, the publisher invites the audience to a champagne reception. The book spans from the religious struggles of the 13th century to the dramatic exodus of the refugees from France in 1685, marked by brutal persecution and unbending steadfastness, and a cultural transfer whose effects are still visible today. Thies follows the paths of the faith refugees across Europe, describes landscapes and historic places, and shows how the Huguenot heritage can help meet the challenges of the present and future.
