About

The Schwules Museum hosts a book presentation, in spoken German, of the German translation of Jennifer Evans' award-winning book „Eine queere Art der Geschichte“. Evans is a queer historian at Carleton University in Ottawa, who describes the museum as no passive archive but a living place of queer kinship. Her book traces the conflict-ridden yet productive struggles over sexualities and gender in art, politics and everyday life in East, West and reunified Germany since 1945, asking about gaps in historiography and archives. Together with invited „special guests“, she will also explore how historical research can help shape a radically intersectional future.
