A public vernissage for the exhibition “Lignin Futures” at the Futurium Lab. The weißensee kunsthochschule Berlin and the Futurium present materials and products based on lignin, a by-product of cellulose and bioethanol production, as part of the research project LignoLight. Researchers and designers offer insights into applications for the fashion and furniture industries, and lignin-based shoes by the Berlin manufacturer Trippen can be tried on. Steven Eschig of the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research WKI opens the event, after which the project team guides visitors through the exhibition.
