„Linie 1“ is a musical revue from GRIPS Theater, billed as „DIE Berlin-Revue“ (the Berlin revue), which tells of life and survival in the big city. The piece by Volker Ludwig, with music by Birger Heymann and the rock band „No Ticket“, premiered in 1986. Young Natalie arrives in West Berlin from the provinces, misses Johnny, the rock musician she is looking for, at the zoo station, and rides subway line 1 through the city. There she is drawn into the pull of the city and meets a panorama of lost, searching, nagging but also warm-hearted people, as they roamed the divided city in 1986.
