About
"Das Herz eines Boxers" is a play by Lutz Hübner at GRIPS Podewil, returning to the GRIPS Theater thirty years after its first staging. It tells of 17-year-old Jojo, who after a theft must do community service in a care home, where he meets the silent Leo, once a professional boxer who fell hard in the ring and in life. A friendship develops between the two, and together they make a plan to take their own lives back into their own hands. Directed by Jessica Weisskirchen, with Nils Thalmann as Jojo and René Schubert as Leo, the intergenerational dialogue asks about loneliness, anger, masculinity and the courage to change one's own life.
