“Metropolis entdecken. Backstein und Klinker in Steglitz-Zehlendorf” Stadtspaziergang mit Friedrich Burschel zum Festmonat
Treffpunkt: Bushaltestelle S-Bahnhof Zehlendorf
frei
About
A guided city walk on brick and clinker expressionism, an often underrated architectural school that emerged in the 1920s, with examples in Steglitz-Zehlendorf such as private and row houses, company buildings, functional buildings and religious buildings. The excursion explores the background, formal elements and striking monuments of the Weimar Republic and its protagonists, buildings one has often passed without noticing their special features. It is led by the historian and political scientist Friedrich Burschel and is aimed at anyone interested in history. It takes place in cooperation with the Volkshochschule Steglitz-Zehlendorf, on foot and by public transport, with a ticket possibly required; admission is free, and advance registration is requested.
