Mother, There Is a Star in Me

MOTHER, THERE IS A STAR IN ME is a documentary screened as part of the FrauenWelten film festival, followed by a conversation. The Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung hosts the event; the film was directed by Sreymom Mab and Benjamin Rigley. It follows the musicians of the Cambodian group Medha, for whom drumming is far more than a hobby, even though drumming is still considered a male domain in many parts of Cambodia. Between rehearsals, performances and everyday family life, their shared music creates a space for exchange, self-determination and social engagement.
