Political Bodies is a multi-layered music performance fusing live music, electronics, ritual movement and multimedia. Behind the project is composer, performer and multimedia artist Shasha Chen, a 2026 fellow of the Berlin Artists' Program of the DAAD, joined by Carlos Cordeiro on bass clarinet and Georgios Lolas on accordion as recorded playback. At its core lies identity as a movable space between loss, resistance, healing and new connection, with the body understood as medium, metaphor and site of mythical displacements. The work is a cooperation between the DAAD's Berlin Artists' Program and Klangwerkstatt Berlin, moderated by Leonie Reineke.
