About

Rafik Greiss – The City and the City is an exhibition at KW Institute for Contemporary Art and the first institutional solo exhibition by Rafik Greiss. The Egyptian artist, born in 1997, works across film, photography and sculpture, addressing transformation, memory and the changing states of images and objects. The show centres on his newly commissioned film of the same title, which follows enigmatic figures through wide desert landscapes where they keep watch and wait for something that is yet to happen. A series of black-and-white photographs showing artefacts, objects and abandoned spaces completes the presentation.
